Others saythe sound works along with the humans’ own vibrational frequencies, or that itrearranges the ions on cell membranes. Evidence of using sound, music, andchants to heal the sick dates back thousands of years to ancient Egyptians andAustralia’s Aborigines.

Sound healing supporters say that listening topercussive instruments like gongs, Tibetan singing bowls, and tuning forksreduces stress and can place the listener in a meditative state.
